Curious with all times SEA Games mascots, I decided to do some desk research a.k.a googling to find all mascots that is available online, so what is available is started from 1985 which is a Siamese Cat as the event is being held in Thailand and it is a typical Thai cat which is believe to bring luck and prosperity to the people. After 1985, the mascot of SEA Games 1987 and 1989 couldn’t be found on the net.
From SEA Games XVI on 1991 in Manila, Philippines to SEA Games XXVI on 2011 in Indonesia, the mascot of SEA Games are continuously represent a unique character of the host country. Starting from a fighting dwelling cock which represent Philippines typical chicken in 1991, a monkey character in Ramayana story of Hanuman which is a tale well known in Indonesia, and an Indonesian dragon of Komodo of the latest SEA Games XXVI in Indonesia.
